Description

A delicious and easy recipe for Garlic Parmesan Basmati Rice, perfect as a side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 4 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic (minced, about 3 garlic cloves)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)

Instructions

  1. Heat a medium saucepan over medium heat and add the uncooked rice, chicken broth, butter, minced garlic, parsley, and salt. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to low.
  2. Let simmer, without stirring, for about 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and all water has absorbed. Keep the lid on your pan until you need to check to see if the rice is done.
  3. Remove from the heat and let the rice sit, covered, for about 5 minutes. Add the Parmesan cheese and fluff and stir the rice using a fork, then serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes

  • This dish pairs well with grilled chicken or a fresh salad.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of garlic and Parmesan cheese to your taste.
