Description
A delicious ricotta cheese dip layered with marinara and topped with fresh herbs, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup ricotta cheese (preferably whole milk)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil or parsley, chopped
- Red pepper flakes (optional, to taste)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta, shredded mozzarella, and grated parmesan until well combined. Stir in the Italian seasoning, minced garlic, and fresh herbs gently to incorporate flavors without overmixing.
- Spread half of the marinara sauce evenly on the bottom of a baking dish. Dollop and smooth half of the cheese mixture over the sauce layer. Repeat by layering the remaining marinara sauce and finishing with the rest of the cheese mixture to create a lasagna-like layered effect.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown on top.
- Remove the dip from the oven and sprinkle additional fresh basil or parsley on top. Let the dip rest for a few minutes before serving to allow it to firm up slightly, making it easier to scoop.
Notes
- This dip is great served with tortilla chips, bread, or vegetables.
- Feel free to adjust the seasoning and herbs based on your preferences.
